Aldo Verbruggen: Prosecution of ING’s former top executive makes companies less willing to enter into corporate settlements

The international platform Global Investigations Review recently reported on the judgement of the The Hague Court of Appeal of December 9th, ordering the prosecution of former director of ING Group.

Lumen Lawyers’ Aldo Verbruggen says the prosecution of ING’s former top executive could make companies in the Netherlands less willing to enter into corporate settlements if they think allegations of wrongdoing will be aired in court anyway.
